“Be silent before the Lord and wait expectantly for Him; do not be agitated by one who prospers in his way, by the man who carries out evil plans.”
Psalms 37:7 HCSB
In order to make progress we must be on the move. We feel the same way with prayer, we have to keep it moving, we must do something until our prayers are answered. If our prayers are not answered, we feel anxious and want to do something as if God is moved by our actions.
Silence in prayer can be just as important as crying out to God. We should seek a word from the Lord and often times that requires us to be still before the Lord and just wait on Him. The greatest tension can be in the waiting. We want an answer right away. There is so much for us to learn about God in the waiting. We are told to draw near to Him and He will draw near to us. So next time in you pray, take some time to quiet yourself in God’s presence and just listen for Him to speak to you. One word from God can change your entire situation.
